Our Basketball Philosophy
Friday Nite Basketball focuses on the fundamental skills of basketball with a strong emphasis on dribbling, driving and shooting. Our coaches teach and coach through encouragement, positive reinforcement, and continual repetition of skills.
The fundamental basketball skills are learned by playing fun, competitive drills and playing small-sided games of 1-on-1, 2-on-2, 3-on-3, and 4-on-4. These small-sided games allow players to touch, handle, and shoot the basketball 10 times more which allows for greater skill development. Games of 5-on-5 are played depending on skill and age.
“I can run. I can jump. I can block shots. I can dunk. But I can’t take pride in that. I’m successful because God gave me the ability.” – David Robinson
“The best kind of pride is one that compels a man to be his very best when no one is watching.” -John Wooden
